Stepping Into Your Future Self

Imagine the most vibrant, powerful, fully expressed version of yourself. In this vision, you are exuding your natural magnificence, you are enjoying all of your gifts and talents and you are sharing yourself with the world in the most authentic way possible. You are grounded, serene and wildly successful.

As I offer this description, what thoughts and feelings are showing up for you? Are you noticing excitement and trust? Or discomfort and disbelief? How are you seeing your capacity to radically stretch and grow? No matter what is happening for you in this moment, I am here to remind you that this vision is who you really are at your center. It is only a matter of revealing your true self. You might hear me or others refer to this radiant being as your future self, or perhaps your best self, wisest self, divine self. The language varies, yet the essence is the same.

We are all on a journey to fully BECOME our future selves. And as we allow ourselves to declare bigger and bolder dreams for our lives, it is imperative to recognize that our future selves are here to guide us. They know the way. They are overflowing with wisdom, confidence and trust. Therefore, staying intimately connected to the spirit of your future self is extremely valuable, not to mention quite exhilarating!

If you are looking to dramatically strengthen your confidence around stepping into your future self, commit to the following and get ready to celebrate your transformation.

Write your new life story. Refuse to fall into the trap of reciting old stories that fail to convey the truth and possibilities. I am asking you to no longer give your attention to the doubting voice that is fixated on the past, the one that is constantly reinforcing a vision of who you HAVE BEEN up to this point in your journey and/or how the circumstances of your life have been. This voice might be saying things like "I have never _____," "I can't_______" or "I am always _____." Just fill in the blanks. And then get curious. How do such statements limit you, keep you stuck, have you play small in your life? It is time to claim your authority as the brilliant author of your life story. Most importantly, it is time to have a blast tapping into your creativity and imagination with this project! Your new story revolves around the fact that your potential is unlimited. You are no longer the person you were, even from yesterday, as the fresh parts of you are always emerging. You are continually expanding and growing, beautifully BECOMING your future self. As Stephen Covey said, "Live out of your imagination, not your history."

Explore the energy you are creating in your journey. As you go about the business of "doing"…taking the action steps to be in alignment with your best self…be just as mindful of the "being" side of the process. Energy is your foundation, and it is powerful. The more in tune you become with your energy, the more you will understand the dramatic role it plays with the actions you take, or don't take. So explore those elements that contribute to your energy. What perspective are you holding? Where is your focus? How much consciousness are you bringing to your choice of thoughts and beliefs? See what you find. Is it the energy of self-sabotage? Or self-love? And is there a need for a shift? If so, what would support you in embodying more of your future self on an energetic level?

Be crystal clear about who you really are. You are a divine spiritual being, and you have everything you need within. Sometimes in our "pursuit" to become more of who we want to be, we lose sight of how absolutely splendid we are in this very moment. You are ALREADY your future self in so many spectacular ways. Be grounded in your true nature. From this place, you know that all is well AND you are inspired to manifest more and more of your authentic self, to allow more of your light to shine. You are trusting in your capacity to unfold into your ultimate vision. And you understand that you have the unlimited support of the Universe.

As a final note, I want to encourage you to bring plenty of fun and playfulness to the journey. Be careful about taking yourself and the process of growth too seriously. If you notice a lot of heaviness in the air, lighten up! You can make that powerful choice right here, right now. Visualize the success and fulfillment that will bloom in a carefree climate of ease, laughter, joy and trust. Undoubtedly, your future self will be cheering you on.
