"Whatever we expect with confidence becomes our own self-fulfilling prophecy." - Brian Tracey
Have you ever been guilty of thinking something is "Too good to be true?"
Or maybe when something absolutely amazing happens, you find yourself saying
over and over again, "I just can't believe it!" I know I sure have.
And whenever I catch myself, it serves as quite an eye-opening reminder of
the subtle ways we sabotage our growth and dreams.
We might be declaring that we are ready to receive more goodness in
our lives, but not REALLY believing it is going to happen. And since we are
literally creating our lives with our thoughts, feelings and energy, we certainly
do not want to overlook this kind of energetic misalignment. Our expectations
have an immeasurable impact on our lives.
The reality is most of us have been conditioned to believe that life is meant
to be a struggle. We are often fed the philosophy that if you don't expect
anything, at least you won't be disappointed. Encouragement to play bigger
and trust deeper might be severely lacking in our lives. We can get stuck
in a perspective of scarcity and be quick to point out why things won't work.
And I am here to remind us that the more attention we give to this way of
being, the more disconnected we become from the the lives we are meant to
be living. I am talking about a life filled with abundance, expansion, freedom,
ease and flow.
Our habit of holding low expectations can leave us feeling totally
disempowered. We forget who we REALLY are and what is REALLY possible.
Now, thankfully, there is some good news in all of this too! The good
news is we are free to design an entirely new relationship with possibilities
and abundance at any moment we choose by practicing the art of positive expectation.
We always hold the power to reclaim our divine, joyful state of being, the
place where we know that ALL IS WELL and expecting goodness is as natural
for us as breathing.
We have the capacity to dwell in a state of joyful anticipation,
to become masters at expecting our lives to get better and better and better.
We can radiate the knowledge that, of course, a life of blessings is our birthright.
If you are feeling inspired to devote yourself to such a transformation,
I invite you to be mindful of the following...
~ Decide in no uncertain terms that you will no longer allow others to determine
what is possible for you and your life. Be eager and excited to stand strong
as a "Dreamer," no matter what other people think or say. Know that
there is no need to defend your perspective of possibilities and trust. Simply
enjoy it.
~ Be outrageously committed to seeing evidence of abundance in the world.
Intentionally look to be awe-inspired. I promise that if you are willing to
look through this lens of possibilities, you will be astonished at what you
find. As you stop focusing on lack, you will strengthen your connection to
the truth that the only limitations are those that exist in our minds.
~ Welcome a sense of lightness in your life. Avoid the trap of taking everything
so seriously. Can you see how the energy of heaviness does NOT nurture positive
expectations? Indeed, it is important to embrace the light. So stay curious
about the spirit in which you move through your days, and if you notice heaviness
lingering, be gentle with yourself and consciously let it go. Be willing to
lighten up.
And finally, remember that Source is unlimited, ever present and your
creative partner in life. Everything you want is already here energetically.
So given this splendid stream of Well-Being that is always flowing and available
to us, why wouldn't we be in the habit of expecting big, brilliant blessings?
