The Story of Struggle

I dare you to act as if realizing your dreams could be easy.

I am totally serious.  I dare you to completely trust that you are divinely designed to joyfully expand into your big vision, that you are generously supported at all times and that the path can be filled with ease.

Imagine for a moment taking this dare to heart.  Given the immense impact that our perspective has on our lives, what do you think might happen?

Now, I will fully acknowledge that most of us have been conditioned to believe the exact opposite of what I am suggesting here.  I recognize that we are repeatedly told the story that says, sure, living our dream sounds lovely and all, but it is just not reality.  It seems that expecting struggle and hardship goes hand and hand with the idea of following your bliss.

Needless to say, I think it is time we start telling a new story.  In fact, it is long overdue!  And I want to tell the one that reflects the true reality.  So let's begin right now.

It is actually much more difficult to NOT live our dreams.

Yes, much more difficult.  Stay with me here as we look a little deeper, okay?

Neglecting the sacred messages of our heart is difficult.  Not expressing our divine purpose is difficult.  Lingering in resistance is difficult.  Squelching our passion is difficult.  Ignoring our intuition is difficult.  Living a life that feels inauthentic is difficult.  Compromising our values is difficult.  Feeling controlled by fear is difficult.

Need I say more?  Can you see how hard it is to KEEP denying your dream?  This way of being can feel incredibly painful and, eventually, it confirms a belief that the journey is hard.

Yet here is the part that we are overlooking in most of our conversations.  It is only hard because we are disconnected from the truth of who we really are.  We are going against the FLOW.  It is like trying to swim upstream in the river of life.

So my deep desire for you is that you allow the desires of your heart to be fully expressed, thus opening yourself up to unlimited ease and flow.  I want you to experience unwavering trust that you are divinely designed to receive your dream, that devotion to your vision is a pathway to not more struggle, but to splendid surrender.  You are surrendering to the truth of who you really are and what is really possible.

In hopes of boosting your belief that diving into your dream is actually a light-filled path where joy and ease await, I offer the following loving reminders.

~ The journey is not about striving; it is about receiving.  Your vision is already here energetically.  And if you genuinely internalize this truth, it is a total life changer.  As clearly described in Esther and Jerry Hick's book, Ask and It Is Given, the creative process includes three steps.  Step One is to ask.  Step Two is the Universe delivers.  And Step Three is to allow it in.  Notice there is nothing in this recipe about having to go out and forcefully "make things happen."  While I absolutely affirm that taking divinely inspired action certainly plays a role in the process, manifestation is ultimately about being open to receiving what is already here for you.

~ You are never, ever alone in your adventure.  If you are standing at the threshold of your dream trying to figure out the "how," agonizing because you can't see the details of how it could possibly come together, please listen closely.  There is no way on earth you can map it all out ahead of time, nor are you meant to.  How COULD YOU when you are not alone in the process?  The truth is you are co-creating with Source, and the specifics of this divine assistance have yet to be revealed.  And they simply can't be revealed upfront.  As you move forward with trust, the stunning support is delivered step by step.  And it truly is a divine dance if we allow it to be.

~ You have everything you need.  As Raymond Holliwell says in Working with the Law, "No mind can be conscious of a need or of a desire unless the possibility of its fulfillment exists.  Your prayer, your desire and your inner urge are like a magnet and the stronger they are, the stronger the power of your magnet and the greater its attraction."  Do you REALLY get the magnitude of this statement?  Allow me to repeat the essence.  If you have the desire, the means to fulfill it are also ALREADY present.  Pretty phenomenal, right?  Can you see the outstanding assurance this offers for embracing your dream?

~ The delight with your dream can take you all the way.  Never underestimate the transformation that comes when you honor your heart and let your spirit sing.  When you say YES to your dream, you are opening up to immeasurable aliveness, passion, freedom and expansion.  And this translates to having tons of fun!  The problem is we often dismiss this experience, struggling to give ourselves permission to let pleasure be a priority.  But here is the thing.  This is where your true power lives.  When you are lit up inside, when you are experiencing deep joy, it is because you are allowing who you REALLY are to shine through.  You are enjoying a radiant connection to Source.  You are aligned and alive.  You are in a state of allowing.  And from this place, anything is possible.  From this place, your vision naturally unfolds with ease.

As a final dose of inspiration and truth, I would love to leave you with the following quote from Seneca. "It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult."
